Don't get me wrong. I'm not angry at anyone. Okay, you've had enough laughs for today so stop staring at the picture and just read on...

My name is Vincent Ryan Ong. Please refer to me as Vincent if you're in a good mood. Otherwise, you may call me any name you want.

I was born on November 3, 1980 in Manila, Philippines. I am of Chinese descent but is a Filipino citizen by birth. I live with my family in Binondo (yes, Chinatown). I graduated from De La Salle University (DLSU) in Manila, Philippines back in 2001. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Studies with specialization in Information Technology.

I have a penchant for web development, literary writing, and philosophy (western). Kinda far from each other, right? I love the color green, especially the darker ones. It doesn't have anything to do with school-loyalty (since DLSU's official colors are green and white) but I guess it's a plus anyway. I also happen to like (and crave for) junk food a lot and I am a self-confessed French fries addict. Chocolates are also on top of my list, specially the dark variety.

I like travelling a lot because I get to take pictures of places, people, and things related to a country's culture. I have been to more countries abroad than to other regions and must-see places of my own country, which is quite sad. One of the things I promised myself is that I should have visited all countries before my life expires.

I used to be satisfied with staying at home during Friday nights but in the past few years, I learned the joy of having peolpe to converse senseless things with. As little as a good book coupled with air conditioning will make my day. Of course, being given a new DSLR camera or a new car would certainly make my day, probably my month too.

I have thought about the meaning of life, love, suffering, etc. which means I have experienced my quarter-life crisis. People don't usually appreciate my reasoning due to its unorthodox nature... or probably because I am not good at explaining. I have a passion for learning anything that interests me. I believe I retained more with what I pursued to learn myself than what I was forced to learn in school.

Lastly, it is my belief that we are what we do. I don't believe in a lot of things like destiny, fate, love at first sight, life after death, purgatory, karma, the Christian heaven, the Christian hell, and many more. What I do believe in is that man has the power to achieve great things for his own advancement. In effect, he touches other lives and therefore, directly or indirectly contributes to society's advancement. We are a powerful bunch, if only we start believing in us ourselves.
